Since summer here in Phil is going to end soon, I would like to share with you a work of mine done, if I am not mistaken, 10 years ago. Applying the color palette of summer using oil pastel on sand paper. And then for final touch, I used Grumbacher Final Fixative for Pastel, Charcoal and Pencil. It’s gloss finish makes the flowers look embossed from the paper which add awesome effects on my piece. And one more good thing, it is non-yellowing. Thank you for visiting 🙂

Flowers from the Past

There was this typical photo album that my mother bought when we were young. And since I am the only one who likes to organize our family photos, I took care all of it and make sure it is preserved and safe . But of course there are times that I cannot helped if some pictures got lost because when the kids at our house checking the old pics and carelessly leave it somewhere…guess what’s next he he he.
Anyway, I am not really into flowers as my usual subject but, I admit that my talent become known when I made a simple sketch of a red rose as my homework when I was in Grade 2. After that day, I become the first and only female artist who represents our school whenever there’s Art competitions. Ok Back, to the Photo album I was talking about, its cover is so beautiful and I can’t help myself to make a replica of it. And I did. I used oil pastel on paper , 13 years ago.
